Max Events started 2018 off with a month filled with some football favourites, including the Australia Day Unite clash between Melbourne Victory and Sydney FC, and the annual coastal clash in Geelong between Melbourne Victory and Central Coast Mariners.

The Coastal Clash kept all the fans entertained enough to push through the sweltering heat before the turn in weather just before kick-off. Victory were able to bring a point home with a 1-1 draw. This was followed by a confidence boosting 3-2 win at AAMI Park, against Perth Glory. Three fan favourites were the ones to seal the win for the Boys in Blue, with James Troisi, Mark Milligan and Kosta Barbarouses all finding the back of the net throughout the challenging ninety minutes.

With Melbourne Victory finding their feet early in 2018 with impressive home and away wins, going into the Unite game against the dominant Sydney FC on Australia Day was where all the challenges were set. This match saw the Max Events team coordinate the Chairman’s Function, sports presentation and AGL activation. We battled the weather for what was one of the most successful AGL Activations yet, a gratifying pre-game ceremony inducting individuals into Australian Citizenship on the grounds of AAMI Park, and a forever-popular Chairman’s function.  Once the starting whistle was blown, the contest was evidently even with a 0-0 half time score line. Early in the second half, Berisha was set for what would be a successful penalty, resulting in the crowd erupting with adrenaline, excitement and pride.

With a steady January, Max Events work towards an exhilarating February! Stay tuned for what we are getting up to in the second month of what will be one of Max Events’ biggest years.
