November for Max Events opened with two rounds of Melbourne Victory and the A-League. This included Max Events creating a compelling pre-game ceremony dedicated to those who have fought for our country, as part of the A-League’s Remembrance Round. During this round, AGL also had their first activation of the year with the return of the AGL Power Up Zone to Gate 5 at Etihad with copious amounts of jelly beans, plenty of space to sit back and relax, but also a takeaway that was an absolute hit with all the Victory Fans! This season, AGL is getting you to be a part of the Melbourne Victory Team with a simple snap and a printed photo, you are automatically placed front and centre in a 2017/18 MVFC team photo. AGL are also giving participants the opportunity to win a 2017/18 team signed and framed jersey so be sure to head to their next activation on January 26 at AAMI Park to see the Max Events Team in action and find out about all the goodies AGL has to offer this season!

The Sports industry transcended upon the Gold Coast for their annual gathering at the Money in Sport conference which included two jam-packed days of panels, key note speakers and hands on work shops at The Star Gold Coast. Most importantly two valuable nights of networking with the who’s who of the industry and building important global relationships.

Max Events had the pleasure of working with the Socceroos for one last time in their qualifying campaign on the Road to Russia. The atmosphere of a sold-out stadium coupled with the anticipation of what could be a key milestone in Australian Football. Neither team was able to find the back of the net in the first half, suspense building gradually as the game progressed and the urgency for a Socceroos goal to occur.

With two penalties, and a hat trick from our captain, Mile Jedinak, Australia as a nation burst into celebration. The Socceroos had scored three goals in the space of twenty minutes. Max Events went into overdrive at this point, the excitement, adrenaline and the post-match celebrations had taken full control and the preparation for the final whistle began which saw the crowd showered in confetti and treated to a pyro show post match.

Following the nations qualification for Russia both FFA and Max Events turned

their mindset to prepare for the FFA Cup Final, to be held at Allianz Stadium in Sydney. Max Events had prepared a show that would set a new standard in FFA Finals; the biggest and best yet. From a mechanical trophy plinth, to a programmed package acknowledging all participants in the cup, a red carpet and two teams ready to battle. The night had it all. With Sydney FC having the home soil advantage, it assisted them to prevail, in the end reigning supreme to take home the FFA Cup.

We finished our month with more successful football outcomes for Australia, the Matildas were back together for a fight on home soil against the well-ranked China PR. The first challenge was hosted at the renowned AAMI Park, green and gold filled the stadium early to see the polished Matildas’ finish strong with a 3-0 win over China. A matter of days later, the Matildas played a second leg against China in Geelong. The Westfield Matildas looked confident in front of a strong crowd, with another impressive win, this time 5-1. The growth of the Matildas is proving to be constant and exciting leading into 2018 with the two wins over China PR, and, most recently, Sam Kerr being announced as the 2017 AFC Women’s Player of the Year.
