CASE STUDY: Victory in Business Season Launch, Melbourne Victory Football Club – Corporate Event Management

Victory in Business (VIB) is Australia’s largest sporting networking coterie group with over 1,300 people in attendance at each of its three luncheons per season.


The VIB Season Launch Luncheon is held each October in the Palladium at Crown in front of more than 1,300 guests including –  players and staff from the three MVFC teams, board of directors, senior management from the governing body, Federal and State ministers, sponsors and corporate guests.


The VIB Season Launch is highlighted by a keynote address from well known leaders of business, past speakers have included then Premier of Victoria, The Hon Denis Napthine, Former Prime Minister of Australia The Hon John Howard, Frank Lowy AM, Ian McLeod, Anthony Pratt and many more.


The Melbourne Victory playing squad is officially introduced on stage at the luncheon, other entertainment includes reputable musicians and comedians such as Vince Sorrenti, Dave Hughes and Jimeoin.

Nature of the Tasks Undertaken


Max Events is contracted to provide end to end event management including theming and production for VIB Luncheons, including:

• Event Management – Project plans, run sheets, cue sheets, scripting, bump in and bump out of the event, stage management and floor management

• Protocol – liaising with Government to provide thorough briefing documentation, guest lists, run sheets and logistics for members of Government in attendance

• Entertainment – Sourcing and briefing MC and entertainment for the luncheon

• Styling – Styling of room including stage, tables and entrance spaces

• Venue Liaison – Menu, floor plans, logistics and financials

• Video / Graphics Production – video packages and creating graphics for screens

• Technical Management – Sourcing and briefing technical supplier

• Guest Management – Managing all contact with guests from invitations to event confirmations

• Financial Management – Delivering the event within the allocated budget and providing a post event reconciliation

• Commercial Properties – Ensuring key sponsors are acknowledged and event branding is as per their contracts
